What battery should be fitted to a 1995/MY96 Sovereign 3.2? Some websites say 096, some websites say 019 and I've actually got an 017 fitted.

it's a big un!!!, these cars are heavy on batteries and need the correct item fitting, as do 308's,

the correct item is part number LNC1250AA a 72 amp.hr jobbie, still available from Jaguar at £105.00, othet markets used a 92 amp.hr item, part no LRA 1250AA, I would recommend the heavier duty one if you can find one

they are specifying the 019 which appears to be the heavier duty one, go for that imo

The 019 is a 90ah battery. Also fitted as standard to an S-type.

Halfords retail with 3 yr warranty is £110. Easy in most towns to find a store if issues arise.

Regret to say mine only lasted around that period, but is more down to recent lack of use on my part and a mega discharge due to a light being left on accidentally.

Now running a 110ah battery which is a little taller but has 20 extra ah capacity which is nice to have in reserve.

Pebble in the pond. I`ve always thought a humble 90ah "right on the edge" during winter conditions. It is quite small for cranking a 4 litre car in my opinion.

Bought myself a Bosch 019 from Halfords. The old one wasn't vented correctly - I presume I need to connect the battery to a tube and poke it through the rubber bung in the floor?
