Inlet manifold gaskets

I have my X300 serviced by my local machanic. It is a 1997 3.2 litre executive.My recent service was for 80,000. He contacted Jaguar to find out which service was required. In the service items supplied were new inlet manifold gaskets. As there have been no problems he contacted me to ask if he should fit them as it would cost me extra time in labour for something that seems unecessary. I said no and they are now in my boot. Does anybody know of problems with the inlet manifold or is this something that is a potential problem. I have not heard of problems with this. Your comments would help.....Brian Bulley.

in my view, if it ain't broke don't fix it!!

Exhaust manifolds can cause problems, as can the gaskets on the exhaust side

Chances are, they are just part of a kit of gaskets.

Good to keep as a stand by tho, just in case.
