I have found that I am in need of 4 new tyres on my 1996 X300, it has P4000 on at the moment and because of age they need to go, I have read the forums etc but no one seems to list the best tyre to fit, can anyone please advise me, there are loads of budget tyres that I have never heard of and I been around quiet a few years, any advise would be gratefully received, thanks in advance.
Kind regards KEN.

Hi Ken,
First up, you have posted your question in the wrong place on the Forum, hopefully one of the Super Moderators will come along and move the thread to the correct Forum Section.
In regards to your question on tyres, this is obviously a very personal choice thing for folks and safety should be the preferred route for anyone concerned with replacement tyres. It would not be a wise move to recommend a "cheap" replacement tyre as in a litigious society, such recommendations can come back and bite - hard.
I would suggest you visit the Kwik Fit website and insert your registration number. This will bring up a list of tyres suitable for your vehicle, but your responsibility to check the dimension details and specification / rating are correct in accordance with your handbook or current fitment. You don't have to buy the tyres from Kwik Fit, although they often have the best prices and service availability. What this allows you to see is the range of tyre options that might work for you and you make a choice.

Agreed, avoid budget tyres, otherwise it’s personal choice. Some people complain about Pirellis in terms of road noise and/or handling, but personally I have always found them fine.

Hi Jim,
Had a word with kwik fit, was really helpful and because of the tyre condition they have a mobile unit that for min £15 they come out to you so I don't have to risk getting it to their depot, I went for the uniroyal RainExpert 5 at £160 per corner all in, have used Uniroyal many years ago and they were always good and gave high mileage, many thanks once again and I hope this helps others as well.
Kind Regards KEN.
