I've been wanting one of these for years and just took the plunge!

I found a lovely Spruce green Double six (1996) with 55k miles in exceptional condition. It was originally a Japan car, but was re-imported back to the UK in 2017.

I should have the car in about a week, but super excited to finally have one. I'd looked at a number of these cars over the years, but many were rust buckets. This one looks to have been loved and pampered, so I think the wait was worth it.

I think as the last V12 jag/daimler, these cars will definitely realize more value than they currently do......one of the reasons i couldn't resist this time!

I have an XJR6 with the Daimler interior, it is a very special place to be!

Yes she's been well cared for. I wa deciphering the service records yesterday (mostly in Japanese of course!) but having worked there a few times I know how thorough Engineers are...looks like the Mechanics are too!

I was surprised by the differences between the Daimler and my V12 XJS's in terms of mechanical configuration. I think I mentioned before, it looks as though the XJS was only very marginally updated over the years, whereas the XJ line was developed more heavily?

Even the V12 engine is quite different in configuration.....more fans/better cooling, different ignition (although I think the final few v12 XJS's switched to the Nippondenso system also). The engine bay is layed out differently too so will need to figure out all the changes.

The ride on the Daimler is just incredible. My XJS's are pretty good, but this double six really is a magic carpet!

Really glad I took the plunge on this....although I needed another car like another hole in the head!

Lovely looking car! Well done!

As you say, the x300 received the latest updates. However, even the last V12 XJSs didn't move to the revised ignition system. I suspect the tiny number that were being produced and the commensurate costs with re-engineering parts, wiring, ecus etc just didn't justify it.

Congratulations. It looks as good as it should for an import. Will you dare drive it in anything but dry conditions though is the question?
