Just received a catalogue in the post, today for the CCA 'Everyman Classic' Auction, next Saturday. several Jaguars including a 1994 XJR manual (black/ black). 150,000miles, regn -M50 NAK. Guide price of £8-10,000.

I have no connection tot he car or the seller, but as these come to market so infrequently, I thought it may be of some interest.
Does anyone know this car?

Davuid

Only 2 photos, the interior looks a bit scruffy in this one, and check out the clutch and brake pedal heights relative to each other!

"The vendor believes this is one of only two in this colour combination ever produced, possibly for a special order on Her Majesty's Services behalf." I'm sure the esteemed robv12 will be able to shed some light.

Actually some interesting jags in this auction including a 1976 (Series 2) Sovereign with just 399 miles on the clock and a 1978 XJ6 (also S2) with 20,400 miles, a couple of lowish mileage XJ-S HEs at £10-15K and looking cheap against these an XJ-S convertible estimated at £8,500-9,500. And also another convertible with 16000 miles too! Also a restored LR Discovery 1 3 door Tdi estimated at £8-10K!

yes I know the car, Ex Simon Fox a well know JEC member who bought it after driving my K44XJR is 2012 at Weston Park, in return I got to drive Simon's brand new XKRS Convertible, a fair swap I thought!!

Simon sold it to our own Graham Searle

it has a fairly ropey mot history with some long list of fails and advises

original registration was M15 XJR, nice in fairness

build wise it is one of only 102 cars built or 103 if you count an unidentified 1993 car

black/black numbers are in fact 26 cars in total RHD and LHD but break that down a wee bit more and we find that only 7 were RHD, 3 of these had black cloth and not leather when new, and then I car is in fact Anthracite Metallic Black and Charcoal leather, leaving us with TWO cars in solid black and charcoal leather as described, so correct in the description

I also think that the other black/black car is now black/cream

questions answered??

expensive car, estimate is three times what I got for my last black manual I sold with less miles, so what does it make my P760 NRW worth with just over 10K miles from new worth I wonder

questions answered??
Apart from the alleged government connection. Is that a broken leaper mount on the bonnet or somewhere to stick a pennant? Unusual to see dark wood and chrome grille. Also some non-standard badges (XJR?) on the wings.

It has my name on it supposedly?
I saw it online last night too.

Last advertised on Pistonheads about 3 years ago, for £3000.

Mileage as of the MOT not 150,000, but 178,802 miles.

The other recent black/ black being M48 RVC, also discussed on here. Sold on ebay for about £1250.

As always, there are faults though, as mentioned already here.

Sold for £3410 which seems a more realistic figure than the estimate!

Yes, i think the valuers at the set their "default pricing", and most of the what they sell is £8,000 upwards.
I went to see this as it happens. I didn't bid.
Anyone know who bought it?
