Hi Ollie
Unfortunately, I found the iCarsoft i930 selection of readable areas to be very restricted on my '94 X300 4.0 Sovereign.
Hence it has been in the back of the cupboard for at least a year!
However this restriction was obviously due to the age of the car as the range of readable areas increased as the model year progressed.
So it would dependent upon the age of your vehicle as to how useful it would be to you.
I made copious notes at the time, of course now, I can't find them!
I also purchased the ELM327 unit recommended by ptjs1 and had some success in clearing fault codes with that.
Hope that this helps. If I locate my notes I shall let you know.
Regards
Ron

The LR11 does look quite a nice piece of kit at around £150. If you can spend an extra £60 over and above the i930, then in my opinion, its a small price to pay for all the additional knobs and whistles.
Described as a professional tool, it even has the much sought after EPB electronic gizmo in it to put the park brake system into reline, reset and calibration modes. That is dead handy and avoids DIY malarkey when it comes to dealing with parking pad changes on cars fitted with the electronic hand brake. See my rear Brembo brake article in the Feb 2018 for EPB procedural details. That advice also holds good for non Brembo equipped models in the Jaguar line up. Stand alone units for EPB work can cost an arm and a leg. The sales pitch shows S-type and X-type compatible within the model listing and also states OBD11 compliant. If in doubt thought, just give the helpful chappies at UKProdiagnostic a call and discuss. Wish I had one! Its great value for money.
As alternatives, have a good look at the Foxwell units. Mike H has one of those and finds it very useful.
