As part of an upgrade, for my 1996, x300 executive, 3.2 Lt. I am installing a high level brake light. The plug is under the rear parcel shelf but it does not have any power. After some research and helpful people, i found it needs a relay in the boot fuse box. The big but, is that the relay does not exist in this box. Diagrams of this fuse box show 5 relays, I only have 4 and the 5th which is the missing one is the high level brake light relay. Missing in that, there is no wiring/plug for the relay to be fitted. Does anybody know if this relay has been placed else where. YouTube videos seem to to suggest it just plug and bingo it works. Anybody fitted one ? Help please ?

So you don’t have 4 sockets in a row as shown?

Thanks for the reply, mine does not seem to have that relay ?

Oh that is odd, you do seem to be missing the red socket for the break relay
Try tracing the wires back from the parcel shelve, it might just be tucked away somewhere!

Thanks for the reply, the wiring goes into the rear loom and then goes through the parcel shelf. Try and look in the boot.

Perhaps this will help or not. I'll put up a picture of my 1995 XJ6 Basic. It hasn't got a rear windscreen light, and has only the 'basic' interior.
