Remote fob battery question

Postby Westcliff » Fri Oct 20, 2017 10:41 am

I have just joined this forum, having bought a 3.2 X300 Sport (1997). The remote fob doesn't work, despite the LEDs flashing when the buttons are pressed. As it had a CR2032 battery in it, I replaced it with a new one, with no success. Should this fob have 1xCR2032, or 2xCR2016?

I don't want to run 6 volts through the fob if it is designed for 3 volts.

The security handbook didn't come with the car and there is nothing in any of the other handbooks to enlighten me.

Anyone got the definitive answer?

Thank you.

It should have two batteries in it!

It should have two CR2016 (Vartar) or DL2016 (Duracell)

Thank you both for the info. The fob works properly now with the correct batteries in it.
