so i bought a full set of complete quads as Jaguar supplied, these were not cheap , but came with everything needed to fully replace the full setup on both sides , though the lamps them selves are not handed, or the ' stainless beauty trims, the rear frames are,
not knowing the full condition , until i took things apart , as she is a driver and i don't want to take her off the road for any period of time unless absolutely necessary , it was also important to get the correct ' square edge ' lamps by Lucas, others are available, but the profile is different, though would work perfectly , but not what i wanted, so originals all the way where i can...
so the first thing is the condition of the lamps, as can be seen , nasty and rusty...

first ( for the quads ) is to take off the top water shed trim plate

then the painted quad surround needs to come off, this is held in by 4 small screws , one of which is behind the grille, so that comes out as well , one of the screws is accessed from under the bumper, the screw can be seen if the side reflector is prised out first
the headlight are then as below

the lamps are held in by stainless beauty rings with three small screws holding the ' keyhole ' fixings, slacken off the screws and twist to remove the bezel , the lamp will drop forward on its wiring ready to be disconnected

as can be seen in this picture, the back of the headlight bowls is beyond repair and very rusty,

taking the new headlamps and new beauty rings, and with new ' keyhole ' fixing screws installed, i plugged in the new lamp units and fitted to the existing frame , which were in excellent condition , so no need for any extra work

as these are for a '94 car, there is no sidelight in the one lamp , as thats next to the indicator on the bumper

then after a good cleanup , and lubricating all exposed threads etc, i replaces the quad surround cover

i have a new grille surround winging its way to me in the post, as mine was slightly dented, so no point refitting, as it ' should' be here tomorrow ?
so all lights on and tested, with new sidelight lamps fitted and the indicator/sidelight lenses cleaned , forgot to turn on the front fogs though , lol
