XJ6 Convertable

Hi all
We run a wedding car company in Chester le street,Co Durham.We are thinking about adding a XJ6 convertable to our fleet.What i would like to know from you all is, any info you may have on these cars.Also if you know of any cars that may be for sale,I would like a 4door car but would look at a 2door.
Any help would be greatfull.

well, first of all welcome,

and the cynic in me hopes your not just ' touting for business '

I'm afraid there was only ever one ( 1 ) convertible ever made which was a chopped up four door at jaguar( a concept car ), and the Jaguar heritage own that,

so unless you want to get out the petrol cutter, its a no-go

there were a few S3 saloons made into soft tops, by Avon, I think, but they are rare and expensive

We have a member in the central Region who has an XJ6 Soft top... I think he stated there were about 25 done by Avon but I believe they were all 2 door...

we are talking XJ6 here though , not X300,

as we are in the X300 forum i thought that what they were looking for, as series 1 , 2 , and 3 XJ6's are quite different to X300's

mmmm thats odd... I thought this was the XJ Forum... which covers all the XJ marques from Series 1 through to X350...?

and incidentally... I am taking XJ Series 1 2 or 3 and the link I posted is I believe a 1985 XJ6 well before the X300 which was 1994 - 97

BB is correct this is really a forum for XJ40 and X300 only, but we welcome all, and i agree the XJBB title can confuse, there is a dedicated XJ V8 forum, see the X308BB, and a series 1,2,3 BB due in the very near future, i can't comment on X350, but I do know the JEC top bods are looking at finding a forum co-ordinator
