X300 broken drivers seat, now fixed

The rear near side 'leg' of my drivers seat had broken. A common fault on these cars. So common that Jaguar would weld the broken parts of the leg together again, free of charge. I don't think this is a very strong fix and it certainly wasn't strong enough in my car as I could see evidence of a previous repair.
To replace the leg only, the rivet that fixes it to the frame had to be drilled out and then the leg could be separated from the runner.
Initially I had hoped to salvage a replacement leg from an X300 seat frame, but, the breakers I contacted had the same problem with broken or previously repaired legs.
I decided to mend and strengthen the broken part I had. A washer was welded into place over the two broken parts but allowing a bolt to be passed through the leg and the washer.
A nut and bolt were sourced that would replace the rivet that had been drilled out previously. To allow the seat height to be fully adjustable, the head of the bolt and the nut had to be ground down slightly. The space between the seat frames that the bolt had to move between was only around 17mm but eventually I had the correct fit.
A little tack weld then welded the nut to the bolt so that it would not undo itself.
The seat now adjusts as it sould.
