MK2 - steel sunroof pulled out

Dear MK2 experts,
I' m owning a 1965 MK2 with a very rare sliding steel sunroof. Two weeks ago when I ride on a German motorway the sunroof pulled out and was overrun by another car behind me, damaging it heavily!
I'm now looking for a solution because I think a repair will be very expensive (if possible) and still unclear whether this is covered by the insurance. Alternatively, I'm thinking of a Webasto folding roof but fear that the hatch of the sliding sunroof is broader than the folding roof.
The best solution might be to find another sliding roof of similar size that could fit into the hatch of the original MK2 sunroof. I saw photos from a Beacham Mk2 with an electric sliding sunroof.
Any ideas what to do?
Thank you very much for your reply!
Best regards
Jörg from Germany
