Front Spring Compressor Tool 3.8s 1966

Been doing a lot of work on a friends 66 s type entire front subrame has been rebuilt i couldn't get hold of the spring compressor for the job so made my own for the initial job. Simply put it was not up to the job and stripped the threads literally everytime it was used.
I have to remove the springs again as i forgot to omit the packing spacers at the top of the springs so now have a ridiculously high ride height and have no hope in hell of adjusting the camber to the correct level.

Does anyone have the correct tool they could rent me as i don't want to make another attempt with the tool i made its not safe enough?
Before i started all this i tried to rent a tool from an owners club an they refused as it keeps coming back damaged so they no longer lend it out is there litterally no one who still rents this tool out?

At the moment it looks like the only option is to try again with the home made tool

I use threaded bar and nuts , and one thick one down the centre ,
Just take one bolt out at a time and replace it with threaded bar , then add the nut ,
Then just undo each nut in turn ,
When finished the work , just do the nut's up one at a time in turn , take a bar out replace it with the bolt ,
Its a bit slow , but it's safe and costs just a few ££ 's

Hello DPF,

for what it is worth, I made my own from 14 or 16 mm (I forget exactly) high tensile threaded rod (the standard threaded rod is very low tensile) and used extra long nuts, these nuts are sold to be used to join threaded rod sections. Either buy online or go to a proper engineering merchant for the hardware.
