Overdrive

I was chatting to a fellow MK2 owner recently who confidently assured me that his overdrive operated on both top and third gear. To the best of my knowledge, no Mk 2 ever did. Anyone know if I am wrong?

An inhibitor switch on the gearbox prevents overdrive engagement in anything but top gear. If you bypass/override the switch you can select overdrive in any gear but take great care - engagement in reverse can cause catastrophic damage, and engagement in some other gears would be unwise.
