Towards the end of last summer on a fairly warm day my 1963 2.4 litre Mark 2 kept cutting out and then needing an hour or so to cool down before it restarted. Once cooled down it restarted easily but cut out again twice more after a few miles when slowing for a junction.
It is fitted with electronic ignition and had a new battery last summer so cranking was not a problem.
I enquired at a local Derbyshire Jaguar specialist who believed I ought to change the coil and plug leads but was not happy with the current Lucas coils and was going to investigate an alternative but as yet has not come up with an alternative.
Can anyone recommend a coil to purchase and try? any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: Fuel Vaporisation
As regards fuel vaporization, check to see that you don`t have a fuel line touching a hot part of the engine.
I once had that issue on a 2.8i Capri. The fuel line had dropped out of a clip and was resting on a rocker box cover. I put the line back in the clip and off we went again!

Re: Fuel Vaporisation
Can you hear the fuel pump clicking when it happens? It could be sticking float valves or blocked vent pipes from the float chamber as well as ignition problems or vapour lock in the lines. There are many issues raised if you do a search on the site on similar issues.
What sort of electronic ignion does it have?
