JEC Southern Day

Postby Car-Nut » Mon Jul 11, 2011 10:21 pm

Guys,

The JEC Southern Day will soon be upon us.

The Northern Day was a good show even though I thought it was saturated
with E-Types. So guys Im asking all you Mk10 and 420G owners to
attend the Southern Day if you can, remember its our 50th Anniversary
as well. Don't let the E-Types steal all the glory bring your car along and
display it with pride.

I am looking for a Mk10 and 420G to to go on the JEC display, if you would like
to go on the display please contact me (my details are in the JEC Magazine)

Gareth posted a reply on his forum:
Southern Day at Beaulieu turned out to be as good as Northern Day apart from my eventful 200 mile return home. After a cow decided to have a rest in the middle of Beaulieu's village street and we had to queue to navigate around it, I got stuck in the inevitable minor-accident related several mile crawl to the M3/M25 junction which warmed the car up considerably (but no brake-stick thanks to Colin Ford's words of wisdom). Bad news is whilst poking around my engine bay for fellow enthusiasts' problems the cooing fans' in-line fuse holder somehow got unlatched so they didn't come on when needed in this traffic congestion. Fortunately I spotted the temperature gauge rising and that the [retro-fitted] fans-on indicator light hadn't come so I managed to quickly pull onto the hard shoulder - soon rectified & only lost a couple of pints of water. More bad news, I got severe cramp in my left leg in the evening - presumably thanks to all that clutch work !

One of the images shows a row of Mk10 420Gs is any one going to speak up to who the cars belonged to :?: Im sure the Bulletin Board readers would love to hear about those cars
