Fan cowl

I have owned my car (3.8 Mark 2) for many years, but in all that time I've never had a fan cowl fitted. As part of a complete rebuild, I thought I'd get a cowl and fit it, to ensure the cooling ssystem could operate at its most efficient.
So I bought one (on ebay) that was advertised as suitable for a Mark 2 or Daimler V8. Guess what? Yep, it didn't fit. I'd removed the radiator and checked that the mounting holes were in the right place and it seemed perfect. But when it came to hanging it on the front of the engine while I refitted the radiator, I suddenly realised that the fan was too big (or rather the hole in the cowl was too small!)
Can anyone confirm that the Daimler has a smaller diameter fan than the Mark 2 (and possibly a greater distance between the front of the engine and the radiator)? If so, I can confidently advertise the cowl for sale as suitable for a Daimler V8.

I have a DaimlerV8 and have measured the aperture as 15 inches.Alec.

Thanks Alec, that's just the answer I needed. I'll check the cowl I've got, but I'm sure that's what it is.
