I will shortly be re-buildimg the front suspension on my early 1960 Mk2 3.8. As well as Harvey Bailey stiffer springs and polybushes (Superpro) on all suspension bushes, I will replace the sub-frame mounts. I note there is a polybush option for the front mounts. Does anyone have experience of these, and if so is it too "harsh". I also note a 5 times difference on price for the rear items between "genuine Jaguar2 and repro on Barratts site. Are genuine worth the difference?

Hello Ian,

coincidentally I have just bought the polyurethane front and the pattern rear from Barratts. I am working on the basis if the rear mountings have a shorter life I can buy the cheaper one again and still be ahead by a long way?

I was hoping there would be a PU option to the steering pivots

On the superpro website https://www.superproeurope.com/products ... cleid=7384 it does list a Draglink bush but they look too chunky to me.

When I rebuilt our MkII I fitted polybush bushes to the wishbones and the anti-roll bar as the original bushes didn't last long. I later fitted the poly front subframe mountings that rattled my teeth on our concrete motorway. it is now tarmac so they have gone back in!

I have also fitted poly bushes to some in the rear springs plus the tie rod. It all feels good and reduces the maintenance.

I also have a set of what we thing are Harvey bailey front springs (check the wire thickness) and a front anti-roll bar from an S type or 420 with 1/2 a degree of negative camber.

I have just had mine all my suspension refurbished by Bob Bate and he recommended using OEM components as others he had found far too harsh unless you are going racing! Pleased with the resultant ride.
