Steering

Postby tony100 » Thu Jun 05, 2008 9:39 pm

I have been informed that fitting bottom ball joints from an XJ40 will make the steering of a mk2 feel lighter. Has anyone tried this mod and are there any benefits?

Regards
Tony.

Personally, I've not noticed a difference when using the later type of ball joint but they're simple to fit and require no servicing. In order to fit one you'll have to remove the spigot for the old joint, and you can use the old ball pin to knock this out - sit it in the hole in the bottom of the upright (stud end first) and hit the ball with a hammer.
