I notice from the Robey website that there are 2 alternative lower columns.

Which is preferable? My car (1965) has the yellow one with the plastic rollers. The pink one looks more substantial. Which was introduced first? Which is the best? Are they interchangeable?

Hello Peter,

the one you favour was fitted to earlier cars, I don't know if they are interchangeable although all else being equal I would say they are, nor do I know if one is preferable than the other, sorry.

Thanks for the reply Alec,
I wonder what the shortcomings of the rubber donut were, for Jaguar to make the change.

Hello Peter,

after a long time the rubber starts to lose adhesion to the metal but I don't think it was ever critical? Cost of course was important?
