Steering Colum Lower UJ Boot

Does anyone know how I get the new boot/gaiter over the joint. I'm thinking that maybe the shaft that holds the nylon rollers is held by a pin that needs drilling out before the shaft is removed. Any help would be appreciated. Stephen

My car does not have a rubber boot over anything. Am I missing something? It just has 2 UJ's, one just by the bulk head and the other by the steering box.

I think later cars had the different upper joint.
