I thought of changing the Bottom ball joints on the mk2 for the sealed for life type.
Barratts state in their catalogue that it is necessary to remove the ball pin spigot from the stub axle.
advice please , what sort of job is it and do you need any special tools , Thankyou , Jim.

Hi,
There is the old way of using two hammers to hit either side of the steel around the taper pin, hard work. Or buy a ball joint splitter.
There are two types, the cheap type that is like a two prong fork, it is tapered and is hammered into the joint to split it. Or get the better and easier type, a bit like a scissor, push it into the joint and wind up the bolt and it will split easily everytime.
