Hi, My 1966 S-Type has a leak of fluid from the actuator at the bottom of the steering column under the bonnet. This actuator connects to the steering arms with a large castellated nut. Has anyone removed this part and stripped it for refurbishment or have they taken it to a specialist for repair? I understand that some can be repaired but not all, any idea which ones can be repaired? Finally, any tips on removal, is it straightforward?
Power steering leak

Hi Tud0
Have you got your leak sorted yet? Not sure which steering box is fitted to your S-type. The Burman box - cylindrical body with a cylindrical rearward projection, inlet at the front, outlet underneath at the rear - looks relatively straightforward in the Jaguar manual, while the Adwest (Marles Varamatic) - squarish top cover, both inlet and outlet on top of the box - looks more complex. I have not stripped either of these though, but both systems do seem to be prone to leaks.
Having changed from manual to power steering, I can warn you to be prepared for a fiddly job with relatively restricted access (I used a lot of bad words).
Best wishes, David
