Unleaded?

Postby dseven313 » Wed May 02, 2018 3:31 pm

Hi All, Firstly please excuse my lack of knowledge i'm a complete newbie with Classic Cars....
I've been extremely luck to have been gifted my late Father's MK2....
A absolutely beautiful car, loads of work done on it in the past, virtually a full restoration !
We have a full list of all body works and mechanical works done on the car but no info on the Fuel System.

Im simply trying to find out what fuel the car will take / need - how do i even find out if its suitable for unleaded, or does a particular mixure have to be made?

any help would be much appriciated

oh its a 1960 3.8l MK2

Hi, the XK engines are great quality and have hardened seats so unleaded is fine although I do notice a difference when I use super unleaded. What CR is it? My car is a Mk2 3.8 1961 8:1 CR.
Be good to see some pictures!
Best of luck with it. I enjoy mine.
