We are looking for someone to restore our 1968 Jaguar Mark 2 240.

We are in Lincolnshire ten miles north of Lincoln.

Is there anybody who could recommend someone who could restore our car for us.

Thanking all Jaguar members in anticipation.

Stella.

This is the only one that I know of and he's in Worksop. I'm new to the club my self and hope that this might be of some small assistance to you.

Yes, Alan Proctor has an excellent reputation. I believe he did the body and paint for Dave Marks' XJ40 restoration. He has done several articles in the club magazine over the years.

You could also try Derek Watson in Bakewell.

Both are well known within the club and have good reputations. I've used Derek Watson for many things on my 420 and E-Type, although not yet for bodywork. Parts supply is at least as good as anybody and they only supply items they know will do the job as they use them on their own customer projects.

Regards

By the way, a picture of your GT3, if you have one, would be nice. I love them.

I have a 2003 Carrera 2. Its rather good.

Sorry chaps, but a little variety is always a good thing.

Alan Proctor is a superb bodyman - but sadly (for us anyway!) retired last year. I believe the workshop is now run and maintained by one of Alans former employees though.

Kind regards,
Keith

I know when I was still at the undecided stage of XJ8 I contacted them with some questions regarding the XJ8 and I was put in touch with Andy. I know Allan was retired but presumed Andy was a younger member of the family but that is not a definate. All I can say, he was polite and offered many words of wisdom and pointed me in the right direction.
