paint code.

Hello all,
I have a 1962 registered (manf. 1961) Mk 2 which is Opalescent Gunmetal Grey in colour. Is there anyone that can tell me the paint code for this finish.

The original Jaguar ICI paint code for Opalescent Gunmetal Grey is P031-2635.

I went to the Jaguar Spares Day at Stonleiigh and found a supplier who could supply it for me (In cellulose)

Hello 2.5piman, can you tell me the TEL no/ address of the paint supplier as my cellulose stockist has ceased to stock the stuff anymore and i want some some opalescent maroon for my 420.

the company's card I got was simply:-
Ken and Lyn, Paints, primers and additives.
Tel 01298 814813, Ken Mob. 07778 165966, Lyn Mob. 07779 143188.
Buxton Derbyshire.
I know that they have been trading for a long time as I have seen them at other shows. I received my order as promised, but you cannot get good thinners by post, you need to collect unless you have a local supplier. By the way, Ken said you must use the top quality thinners for a good result.

Cheers ,that`ll do nicely.I`m in the painting game myself so thinners isn`t an issue and Buxton just gives me an excuse to thrash the bike around the roads i learn`t to ride on.A real result

Hi,
does anyone got a summary of the color codes that were used in 1966?
My 3,4 is painted in horrible (volvo!
)color by one of the earlier owners and now try to find the original. I think the name is opalecent dark green.

I have a list of paint codes from 1957 onwards - Opalescent Dark Green is listed on it, and the ICI paint code is P031-2639.

My car is a 1961 3.4 painted Opalescent dark green. I can tell you it is a great colour for the car.

thanks for the info.I have seen one Mk2 here in Sweden and it looked great. I just have to do some body work on it before I do the paint job so hopefully it will be painted in not a to far future.
It´s all about time isn´t it?
