Rear door locks

I'm hoping there may be a very simple answer to my problem, please excuse my ignorance, but I'm having great difficulty in locking my rear doors on my 1964 2.4 Mk2. I can push the handles internally but the doors simply will not lock.

Probably the linkage not working or the rods bent etc. Will probably have to remove the door cards to check the situation. It is a simple mechanism that operates the doors.

Thanks PPV I'll have a look at that and see if that is the problem.
