Hello all, I have been offered a 1966 S type that has been pff the raod since 1984. The car had sat inside for most of the duration but has been outside for 3 or 4 yearrs now so the bodywork has suffered a bit. The bpnnet os scrap, the wing bottoms wil all need repair. The offside sill is rotten through to the inner, all jacking points are pretty scrap. The biggest concern was that the owner jacked the car up under the offside floor pan and has badly distorted it with it rather rotten and there is now a large hole in the pan. The pan is pushed up where the jack went through. The top hat channel in the middle of the pan is also scrap as bent. I am trying to guage whether it is worth doing. I am goodd with a welder though? Are half pan avilable for the S or are they the same as the Mk2?

Hi, not sure about the parts of the bodywork being the same. I am sure someone like SNG or David Manners would advise. This sounds like quite a project. Are all the mechanical components Ok? Is the body distorted? If not it will require bracing before starting cutting out the bits. A few pictures may help people advise you if it is worth doing all the work.
However, I would encourage doing the work if you really like and are good at welding and fabrication but I am not sure if monetary wise it will be worthwhile but I have always taken great pleasure in doing the work itself and seeing something come out of it at the end.
