paint for air filter cover on 3.4 mk 2

Can anyone please advise on the correct paint to use on the air filter cover on my 3.4 mk 2 ? (round pancake filter type). Obviously it's a silver paint of some sort, but I would appreciate some advice on where to source it etc

Yes, there are many shades of silver and many other colours. This is how I would approach the job.

I`d clean up the existing paint on the part and take a trip to Halfords taking the part with me.

Most stores have a large range of ready mixed aerosol spray paint on their shelves. I`d then compare what is readily available with the paint on the part. If nothing appears suitable, then I would talk to the paint technician and have them mix and match a brew from their colour charts.

The alternative is to visit a motor trade paint supplier who can use a paint spectrometer and then specialy mix either aerosol paint or bulk paint for use via a spray gun.

I would use the high temperature paint , I find the Halfords paint fit for the jobs I have used it for !
