Door drain plugs

Postby 470HW » Fri Jun 05, 2020 10:57 am

When I bought my MK 2 the 2nd owner went to great lengths to point out that the car was totally original and even had the original door drain plugs that he proudly showed me. Unfortunately, when I took the car to the body shop I'd removed everything apart from the door drain plugs which they lost. To be fair they weren't in good shape. The trouble is I can't find these parts on any part diagram or listing. Dave Manners, SNG Barrett and an increasing number of smaller suppliers don't seem to know anything about them or carry them. Does anyone know of anybody who stocks this part or can help with the part number?

Hello 470HW,

Jaguar describe it as a shroud, for water drain holes, same part front and rear :- BD 11806. They are not shown on Jaguars parts list illustration, which is what Manners and others use.
One company you could try is Classic Motor Cars in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. As they do full rebuilds to a very high standard they probably have a source as they like their cars to be 'right'.
If you remember they are a very simple steel pressing and pop rivetted to the door frame.
