rear boot lock.

hi.
I need to take my rear boot lock barrel out to try and alter the pins to fit my new key. my car is
1965 S type.

I don't know the S type or where the release is, but usually it is best to remove the housing that the barrel is in. put the key into the lock barrel (it won't release and come out otherwise) the remove a circlip or pin to allow the barrel to come out, they are very basic.

You can always contact a lock smith to find one that has the special equipment to put a special boroscope into the lock to measure the height of the gates and make a key for you.
