Hello,
I am new to the club and so far it's been very useful.
I am replacing many parts and generally improving my V8 250 bought 2 years ago as a good running car & so far so good. I next need to replace the brake servo. I purchased the upgraded 4.25:1 version ( part # LR 18230 replacing C19612e, the old Lockheed 6.7/8" version ) which SNG Barratt advised as more efficient and much tidier once installed. Also a lot cheaper ! I was assured by them that it would fit but would need a bracket ( not supplied ). There are 3 threaded mounting studs on the rear but no nuts supplied ! The helpful guy Phil at SNG repeated this when I rang back yesterday as want to do the job next week. Again he said yes they fit, quote :" plenty of people have bought them " . However, I also asked the question of the V8 250 forum and got a different answer ! Also , why supply a part without a fixing kit ? Make your own mounting bracket as I was told isn't really the answer . I don't do metal fabrication. They are the same as on a MK2 so someone in the club must surely have tried this job. Any help / advice gratefully received . Many thanks Ian.
Damler v8 250 & MK 2 brake servo upgrade.
