Dears,
I looking to overhaul my gearbox, but thought a simpler perhaps cheaper way would be to replace with a recon box. I have been searching the web but seem to be going round in circles in achieving what I might need. So I have the following questions, bearing in mind wherever I may eventually purchase needs to be shipped to Switzerland. And I will not be doing the overhaul and fitting. So...
1) Companies who can supply a straight replacement.?
2) Do XJ6 boxes fit and if yes what is needed to make the match if any. Suppliers?
3) I assume a T5-5 box might do the job but how many types are there and which is the correct one. Suppliers.
4) Perhaps some is aware of a supplier in the surrounding countries to Switzerland, Germany etc..., that have had experience with or knowledge of.
I really need your expert guidance here to ensure I would buy the correct thing and at a price that is reasonable.
I eagerly await your feedbacks
Many thanks - Derek.

Cannot help much really but there are suppliers advertised in the JEC mag for replacements and if you want a rebuild worth talking to http://www.mandcwilkinson.com/sayer-per ... nd-clutch/ who do both rebuilds and T5 swaps or http://www.derek-watson.co.uk/5speedboxes.php or http://historicmotorsporttransmissions. ... aguar-mk2/.
Can be a bit expensive though. What is wrong with yours and waht type is it?
Regards,

Thanks for your feedback it is greatly appreciated. Basically the synchro is shot to bits and generally has more loose play in it than the England men's football team. I'M going through a gradual rebuild of the car as it is my everyday runabout so to say. The only time she is not driven is in the salty and icy conditions.

Derek
