Hi all,
I have just bought a 1960 3.4 mk2 auto and the speedhold is disconnected,
the box has been overhauled about 100 miles ago.The seller tells me he had problems obtaining a switch on the box that didn't leak or burn out so gave up, he was told that the re manufactured switches were rubbish and the best bet was to find a good second hand ones.
I think this is genuine as I have seen the bills/credits for the duff units can anyone shed any light I think the box is bw 35 but will crawl underneath to check if anyone thinks they can help. Otherwise box is as smooth as the proverbial
Cheers

Re: Borg Warner speedhold
Hi Richard,
The intermediate speed hold is only fitted to the Borg Warner DG gearbox, not the Model 35. Suggest you contact G. Whitehouse Autos who specialise in these gearboxes and will almost certainly be able to assist with the parts you need. I tried their web site but found it a nightmare that wouldn't load correctly.
Good luck

Re: Borg Warner speedhold
Cheers for that I think that company is based in West Midlands not too far from me I may get them to look at it when the oil needs changing, do you know where the Id plate is for the gearbox and what side the speedhold servo is I think I prolbabley have the box you describe as it has a gizmo on it with wires the same colour as speedhold on wiring diagram
Cheers
Richard
