Rear axle drive shaft pinion oil seal replacement

Postby PPV » Sun May 10, 2009 12:38 pm

I have a bad leak from the pinion oil seal at the front of the axle. I have removed the propshaft, removed the nut from the universal flange and have then tried pulling off the universal flange to get to the oil seal. Unfortunately it will not budge using my 3 legged puller etc. Is there a special hudraulic puller for this or has anyone got any advice as to how I can get it off.
Many thanks,
Paul

Axle flange removal

Hi Paul
Have not done this job myself, but the Jaguar service manual says to use a 'suitable' puller to remove the flange. My guess is that you need to pull a bit harder.
Good luck, David
