inlet valve diameter

The previous owner of my 65 mk2 3.4 had larger size inlet valve fitted. I have bent one of them during assembly. I am hoping everything else is OK. I was told at one time they were from an XJ6. I have got myself tied in knots on the searches. The valves have a head diameter of 1.855" and I believe the original would have been 1.75".
The sketch shows what I have removed from the car. Any ideas where I can get one?

I bought some XJ6 inlet valves some time ago but found they were too large a diameter for the head I had, being for a later model which had a larger diameter valve.
Mine measure 1.872" and 4.20" in length (The latter was measured with vernier calipers and is liable to an inaccurate measurement due to the shape of the valve.)

Could it be that the valves you have have been reduced in diameter slightly?

There does seem to be a demand for all sorts of valves with minor differences. I was looking at http://www.gsvalves.co.uk/assets/race-e ... alogue.pdf More generally on the internet, there seems to be a few around at 47.7 / 1.878".
I would be OK with removing a bit of the rim. I do not suppose you still have the valves and would want to sell them or one of them?

PS I too use vernier calipers (not digital). I prefer the mm scale. The 25 thou divisions make my eyes go funny!

if you send me a message with your address I'll send one to you in the post.
I doubt that the extra few thou in diameter is significant. Length obviously is but as I say verniers willl not be accurate measuring the length as the two points that contact the jaws are not opposite. Unless you vernier jaws are long enough to cover the full head diameter?
