Hello Peter,

gaskets shouldn't need a sealer as well, that is the theory. I use Hylomar on one face basically to keep the gasket in the right position. (Some like the breather gasket will not move, but sump gaskets are a different case.)

Hi,
I am looking for reassurance that the rope seal is not gripping the crankshaft too tightly. It is about a month since the crank was fitted and it still requires a spanner to turn it. I would guess around 20Nm.
