Just bought a 1962 3.4 manual that has been stored for 10 years by someone who rents the storage space from me. its fairly poor condition but worth the effort i think.
To summerise, i eventually managed to get sparking at the plugs 3 days ago, ignition light came on starter solenoid played up for a while but now working (new one on order) fuel tank taken out for repair, tested it would start by squirting petrol into inlet manifold, and i got a few turns out of it - sounds lovely.
Today managed to get indicators stalk working again and i tried a few of the center panel items to see if they worked e.g screen wash, but i could no longer get the ignition light to come back on.
So my question(s) is
have i shorted something while the center control panel was down?
or could the ignition key switch have failed (sounds ok to me)?
or could i have blown a fuse (i can only find two 35 &50amp)
i am not a mechanic or electrician so please go easy
ALL SORTED NOW -IT ENDED UP BEING A LOOSE IGNITION WIRE FROM THE AMP METER - TOOK SOME TIME TO FIND THOUGH.
