Which Battery Isolation Switch? Bypass 123 Dizzy!!!

Postby davgr01 » Tue May 18, 2021 12:42 pm

Hi All
I recently had to buy a new battery for my 65 S-Type and after 3 weeks it was flatter than a pancake!!!.
I'm going to get an Isolator Switch fitted so does anyone know of the following:-

Decent Isolator Switch I could Use?
Is it easy to bypass the 123 Distributor so I can leave the Immobilisor on?
What drain does the 123 Dizzy have on the battery when the car is left idle?
Cheers
Graeme

Hello Graeham,

the simplest is the type that clamp onto the battery post, and take a feed from the battery clamp side via an inline fuse to anything you want to keep energised.
An example here, which has the fused line included :- https://www.holden.co.uk/p/discarnect_p ... ter_switch
