Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a Daimler Sovereign 420 which was running perfectly when I put it in the garage just before Christmas.
When I came to start it the other day it was 'dead' on the starter button. Not so much as a click!
Checked the battery and it is fully charged and the terminals are tight. Bought a new starter switch and tried that, but still nothing.
I looked for the solenoid switch but instead, where I thought it should be, next to the battery, there is a connector with the HT from the battery going in one side and the HT to the starter going out the other with a sort of 2 prong plug which fits in between.
Can anyone advise me how to sort the problem please as electrics are not my strong point.
All other electrics seem to be working fine.
Thanks in advance,
Michael.

Assuming the car is an automatic, is it possible that the gear linkage or the starter interlock switch is still blocking the starter circuit? In short, does the linkage require a little adjustment to trip the interlock switch, or is the switch itself sticking?
I believe the interlock switch may be positioned under the steering column shroud.

Re: Sovereign 420 non start
I know you said all connections look good but on batteries etc I would undo them and ensure no corrosion underneath and also elswhere through to starter. Not sure about your '2 pronged' connection though.
If you have not got a multi meter you could check circuit with a bulb plus wires to see if there is a break somewhere.
Hope you easily find the issue.
