Battery tray

Postby 99B » Fri Aug 21, 2020 10:40 am

Hello,
I am looking to undertake some works to the engine and its bay. To start with, a small query. The battery is only sitting upon two plastic strips (incorrect?). Can i just by a s/steel tray or, will i have to have the battery box for the better fit?
lastly, the bulkhead behind the two battery terminals has been worn through. Was or is there a part that sat behind the battery to stop this wear or, shall i just fabricate a piece of ply etc?
Many thanks

How is the battery held to the bulkhead? It should have two long bolts through a clamp. Trays do corrode if the battery has leaked etc but I have never seen one without one. Mine also has a type of rubber matting behind it to stop it rubbing the bulkhead.
