Having just fitted a new solenoid, the old one was chattering, I think I may have inadvertently caused an open circuit in its electrical supply. The bullet connection was very tight so when diconnecting I may have pulled on the wire too hard. Also the interior lights are no longer working.
Where does the wire run from the solenoid, it appears to go to the top of the gearbox, is the only access by removing interior trim and the gearbox tunnel cover? Is it likely the interior lights are the same open circuit?
cheers in anticipation of a simple solution

Hi Lewis,
You have to remove the centre conso;e and carpet etc to get access to the top of the gearbox. The feed to the overdrive switch is taken from the top gear switch which is accessible from the top of the box.
The interior lights are NOT on the same circuit The int lights are fed from the A2 fuse terminal and the overdrive from the A4 fuse unit.
Hope this helps, Baz
