Hello all, just took delivery today of a ‘project’ 1968 “S” Type 3.8 in Old English Rust/White, no , it’s not that bad......
It joins our 2000 XKR and 2011 XJ Supersport.
It has come with 2 spare bonnets, a spare boot, 5 chromed wire wheels , spare autobox and much more.
There will be welding to do, but it’s not a basket case, reaching out to a friend with extensive skills in that department for some training.
Oh yes...... engine is seized, which at the moment is the least of my concerns.

Well Steve, welcome.
You have purchased a very under rated car, and one that is ideal for touring or everyday use. Usually the “S” is compared against the MK2 models and although slightly slower on acceleration leaves the earlier model behind in comfort, ride and handling. My own opinion of course, but I have driven and tested cars professionally in over 40 countries.
Just keep your eye on the ball, there are a few trips in the spares bin, more than one bonnet size for instance. Don’t assume MK2 parts will always fit.
No doubt you have many hours of work ahead, but hopefully you will find it worthwhile.
