Goodbye and Thank you

I joined JEC and this forum in 2017 when I acquired my Mk2. I have found many useful articles and had great support from members which has guided me to a successful complete nut and bolt restoration, which I finished between lockdowns in 2020. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons, I will have to sell her, long story, which facilitates the title of this post. I have too much information on the car to accurately describe her in a standard advert so, as we are in lockdown again, I have spent quite some time to learn how to create a small web site for interested parties to browse. So, thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum, I, and I am sure others, learn so much from reading older and current posts and of course thank you to those who have responded to my requests for help over the years. Thank you PPV, for information my Mk2 is now sold. There has been a lot of traffic to the web site I created and unsurprisingly the vast majority of viewers left after reading the price on the first page. I too would have thought that asking £32,000 for a 240 was too much but, as a little encouragement for fellow owners, with the right quality offering it is possible to achieve close to that price. I didn't get £32,000 but the first number of the actual sale price is a 3. Safe and happy motoring to all members. This is Goodbye.

Or Maybe Not. Since last year when I posted this thread and recovered from the surgery necessitated by the medical reason for selling my Mk2, I needed to find another project. Another full car was out of the question for HTSBO so I bought a dilapidated Mini engine based Beach Buggy which was very easy to work on, but I have now finished that project too. Fortunately, I have now viewed and bought an unfinished Daimler V8 250 project advertised in the JEC Classifieds and am arranging collection next weekend. I still have my Japanese import XJ40 which is just a beautiful drive but is not a real project. I am looking forward to the strip down and rebuild of the Daimler and no doubt I will be back here with questions and updates and gaining your support as I have in the past. Tony D
