Has anybody fitted winter tyres to their MK2?, I am planning a trip to Switzerland and Austria this winter and to comply with their driving rules I will need to have winter tyres on my car which has wire wheels. Any help will be much appreciated.

I looked for you at the NEC but missed you!
I had enough trouble finding a decent set of tyre at a good price, so I'd be surprised at some one making winter tyres for the MkII. It might be worth giving Blockley tyres a call, I had a chat with them at the NEC and they do a reasonable priced tyre for our cars, not sure about winter tyres though!

MY2000 3ltr S type manual standard car with leather seats, cruise control and mistral blue metallic paint.

I will give them a try, I have looked at Vredestien who list 15 inch winter tyres but not sure if you can use them on wire wheels. Hope to see you again at one of the events next year.
