Classic Cars article on S-type and 420 cars.

Malcolm McKay has contacted me with a request for a really nice S-type to appear in an article he is writing for Classic Cars magazine. I quote from his email to me, 'The chosen car will be photographed in a studio located at Beaulieu (National Motor Museum), Derby or Norwich, whichever is nearest to the car's home location. Ideally the shoot needs to be done on a weekday and takes several hours. Derby and Norwich can occasionally do a Saturday morning, but Beaulieu is available weekdays only. The car needs to be an S-type (Editor's stipulation) and, to look good in the magazine, it needs to be a reasonably bright colour scheme. Carmen Red, Opalescent Golden Sand, Opalescent Maroon, Opalescent Silver Blue would all apparently be good; Beige and Warwick Grey might also work, but not Cream as the car is photographed against a white background and too light a colour will not stand out. The car doesn't need to be concours (though of course it would be nice if it was), just a good, very presentable (inside and out) unmodified car, either restored or very well preserved. We have about four weeks to get the shoot lined up.'
Classic cars will refund petrol costs and also provide a set of photos and a magazine and would be most likely to select a car located near one of the three studios listed above.
