Postby Rictus » Tue Nov 20, 2018 11:26 am

A date for your diary!
On Saturday 1st June 2019 there will be an exclusive event at JLR Classic Works, Coventry to celebrate this milestone in Jaguar history. It will be free of charge to display your car and to view the workshops and vehicle collections.
Further details will be posted when they are finalised but for now please keep the date clear :D

Thanks for that. I attended the AGM there earlier this month. I was impressed - could do with a more detailed poke about. Alec G.

A few more details for you:
The event will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Mark 2, with parking for Mk2s directly in front the impressive frontage of Classic Works.
The Works will be open free of charge for visitors to walk around and see the showroom, workshop and impressive vehicle collection. There will be speakers and other events to enjoy throughout the day.
Timings will be from 9am to 4pm and catering will be available all day (you do not need to arrive at 9am or stay until 4pm).

The celebration will cover all compact Jaguars from the period from Mk1 to 420 and, as it’s also the 60th anniversary of the SP250 they will be included too (they are certainly compact!).
However, all Jaguars of any age will also be welcome and will park around the corner at the SVO facility.

Tickets are not required but on behalf of Jaguar Classic, I am taking names and model type from those keen to come, to monitor numbers for catering and parking purposes.
If you would like to bring your car please contact at: info@jaguarbreakfastclub.org.uk

I am delighted to report that we already have around 50 Mk2s (and family) booked in for this event, which will make a magnificent display :D

But there is room for plenty more so please register your interest. It will be a day not to be missed!

Hi

I apologise in advance if this seems to be a stupid question but are jaguar classic works really running this event at the same time as the event at CMC in bridgenorth on June the 1st or have I got my wires crossed

Cheers

I am confused as to the venue for this event. Is it at CMC Bridgnorth or Jaguar Classic Works or are there two events on the same day? The link on the events page takes you to the CMC event......

Can someone please clarify. Thanks

Hi Rod

There is definitely an event at cmc as I emailed them direct to register and was well pleased it was so close to me,

It would seem the other event is being run by the jaguar breakfast club at the JLR classic which if true seems to be a bit of a shame as my 2 owners will be torn between the two?

Hopefully someone from admin will be able to give chapter and verse on this

Cheers

Richard

That's great thank you. We have over fifty Mk2s already and another few hundred Jaguars besides so it's going to be a fantastic event :D

Sorry not to have responded to this. It is very unfortunate that CMC chose to run a 60th anniversary celebration on the same date. The Jaguar Classic event was already arranged to coincide with the monthly Jaguar Breakfast Meet (normally at Gaydon). It will sadly have an affect on numbers at both events but bookings for the Jaguar Classic date are going very well with over 50 Mk2s so far on display and a couple of hundred other Jaguars.

If it was not for Facebook one would think the meeting never took place , I think the benefits of such Clubs you have to pay for has long gone , very poor show , and responses :-(

The Mark2 60th Anniversary event held at CMC Bridgnorth was a great event with many Mark2s and other makes and models there. Shame that there were two events on the same day which would have split attendance so I’m sure in a lot of cases it would be which one was nearest home!
I booked into cmc last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure the one at Classic works would also have been good but not seen any write up on that.

The Mk2 anniversary at Classic Works was a spectacular event with around 70 Mk2s and family from 1950s/60s. In total we had 270 cars.
Here's a link to a video of the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiL22ZKwSiI
