Hello can anyone help, I've just got hold of a Sat nav DVD from a 2001 XJ8 and wish to hook this up. I think I need a new head unit and a UK DVD can anyone let me know.
I think I just plug the cd into the DVD and that into the plug in the boot and then just replace the head unit in the car and BINGO!
But I could be wrong...
All help would be greatfully.

hi,

first ( as you rightly say ) you need the satnav head unit, it has a larger screen than on your standard one, and a slightly different layout of buttons

then you will need ( as you say ) a dvd player in the boot to plug the satnav disc into ,

these things can be ' reto-fitted' with a little bit of effort and a few extra parts ( like a gps aerial etc)

as you are asking , i have available an as new 2000 satnav head unit with all the required codes from the donor car ( VIN, Registration and stereo code-4 digit ) , this will be compatable with your 2001 dvd player....


i got this for my own 1999 XJ8 , but have decided not to go for it as i had a handheld satnav unit bought for me as a present

if your interested, pm me ( private message )you can have it for what i paid for it ( used but mint condition)
