Hi guys - I now have an excellent solution which I can recommend to everybody. Road Radio of Crawley fitted my XJ8 with an ICELINK FM ONE. The cost £100 installed and took one hour. Very neat installation with the cradle in the centre armrest and my MP3 sits in there also. The main gubbins is fitted behind the radio panel. This device breaks into the antenna cabling of the car and combines the antenna source of the car antenna and the ICELINK FM. The activation of the ICELINK FM is done automatically if the car ignition is on. When the ICELINK FM is functioning, radio reception is possible and the Traffic Annouincement feature is allowed. It will also work with IPOD's which plug directly into the cradle in the centre armrest which also charges them. My MP3 connects to the cradle via a cable but I must charge it separately. The guy who fitted it was an old car enthusiast and was fully aware of the care needed when dealing with polished wood panels. I drove across Southern England and then 3/4 of the way down France with ABSOLUTELY CLEAR MUSIC FREE FROM INTERFERENCE except for a few minutes in Northern France. If anyone else has already mentioned this solution, please accept my apologies for wasting everyone's time.
