After replying to Nigel with his "red calipers" we must have other guys who like to "bling" their cars up besides Him and me......anyone got any customizing stories to send ..........anyone going to Thorseby with some "bling" bits on as extras lets be seeing you and your customizing work at the stand if its possible..........word of mouth is more detailed than posting at times..........most photos we have of members cars show a distinct pride we all have in our cars so why shouldnt we all try to "bring" them up a bit...........maybe a good subject to have within the forum.......and im more than curious (nosey)to see any quality work that's been done.

if you look down the postings in this forum , you will see that all my contributions are about ' blinging ' up my car,

i have added american side badges instead of side indicators, upgraded the interior grab handles to daimler spec, added chromatic power fold mirrors and a full width rear sun-blind

i have many other upgrades to

all of the above can easily be lifted from the site and added to the magazine if you so wish

as to the legality of the badges instead of the flashers, well, its passed two MOT's with them fitted ( but you do have to convert your side reflectors to flashers )

Blinging

Postby joejag308 » Mon Apr 06, 2009 5:03 pm

Nice one BB i have done a couple of bits like putting on a rear number plate surround with "supercharged" on it from the USA as they don't do Daimler stuff......i then put a chrome (plastic) numberplate surround on the front from EBAY over here. Its quite hard to find any Daimler bits in the UK but in the States they don't have Daimler anyway they are called Vanden Plas.... both rear "Super v 8" and "Daimler" boot badges had started to blister so i changed those.......i got the wrong colour ones too so i had to buy some new ones (not cheap either)
I renewed the headlight bulbs for Phillips Supreme and that made a difference.........i have seen fog light surrounds for the XJ too but the price is ridiculous about £225........they also make the side reflector surrounds in chrome but they are dear as opposed to wildly expensive.
Oh and the Gold daimler "D" for the radiator trim makes all the difference.
My wheels i have put "Daimler Super 8 " decals on....quite effective (and cheap) also a nice set of alloy valve covers with my car colour and Daimler centres........this is without going over the top with bling and just adds the right amount of personalisation...........anyone else????....Joe :P
